Join Our Group?

Are you an undergraduate, graduate student, or post-doc interested in joining our group?

Post-docs: please email me to ask about research opportunities. In general if I have a position open, I will post it to the AAS job register around November.

Prospective graduate students: we have a standardized admission process for our graduate program. Please apply at this link. If you are admitted into our program, I’d be happy to meet with you and discuss you thesis plans during our prospective visit.

Undergraduates: please email me to ask about research opportunities.

Freshman: it is never to early to get involved in research. In fact, the earlier the better. If you are looking to write published research papers and apply to grad school, you should get engaged in research as soon as possible. Please email me to ask about research opportunities. Also please enroll as soon as possible in our Astro 119 course that will teach you how to code in python. Any research project in my group will required python coding skills.

You are a new student working with our team?

Please go to the RedWoodTools github repository where I described how to get up and running with your research. The RedWoodTools wiki page will help you set up the tools that you need on your computer, provides information about how to get started with python, and provides a list of reading materials. The more you can complete the tasks listed on the wiki ahead of time, the faster we can get started with your research project!

Lunch on Thursdays

Whenever possible, I will be having lunch on Thursdays at noon in the CfAO building on campus. Feel free to come by and chat!
